The trade fair will feature an international congress, an exhibition area and a new event, the Biosolutions International Award
Kenya will be exhibiting at Macfrut 2021 Special Edition, to be located in the African Pavilion, with a size of 64 sq metres as well as host a virtual stand on the Macfrut Digital platform. The Virtual Stand will be published on the macfrutdigital.com platform on the trade fair days.
The country’s delegation will be led by Horticultural Crops Directorate (HCD) Director Benjamin Tito and includes 10 Kenyan horticulture exporters. HCD first exhibited at Macfrut in 2016 and falls under their mandate of facilitating marketing of horticulture in international markets and product promotion. An additional aim of participating is to increase trade with Italy; exports in 2020 were valued at $33.73 million, compared to imports valued at $ 221.55 million for the same period (www.tradingeconomics.org).
Participating companies at Macfrut 2021 to be held at the Rimini Expo Centre, Rimini, Italy, from 7-9 September will include Athi Farm Exporters Ltd, Olivado Fresh EPZ, Value Fresh Ltd, Avodemia Ltd, and Biofarms Ltd.
Other firms expected to exhibit at the trade fair are Envisage Ltd, Fair Trade Enterprises Ltd, Food Africa Enterprises Ltd, Goshen Farm Exporters Ltd, and Kefzone Ltd. HCD will also showcase its work for the horticultural industry.
International exhibition and congress
Key players in the field of natural plant protection and nutrition methods will be gathering at the trade fair. The Biosolutions International Event, an international exhibition dedicated to companies in the sector and addressed to agricultural entrepreneurs and sector technicians, will be held at the Rimini Expo Centre. The exhibition, which will focus on nutrition and plant protection products of natural origin, will include an exhibition area and an international congress (the Biosolutions International Congress), during which various experiences on a critical issue, i.e. the brown marmorated stink bug, will be discussed.
In addition, a brand new event will take place during Macfrut 2021: The Biosolutions International Award, a recognition that will be awarded to all biosolutions featured at the trade fair that prove to have strong innovative potential. It was conceived to showcase and reward innovations in this extremely important sector, which is set to become increasingly crucial to the agricultural industry, as evidenced by the Green Deal.
The International trade fair for the fruit and vegetable sector will be preceded by a day exclusively dedicated to business with China. The China Day is the name of the innovative event to be held on Monday, 6 September on the macfrutdigital.com platform.
